Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is staring at a possible impeachment if the MCAs threats are anything to go by.
Ngilu has fallen out with the MCAs who she is accusing of allegedly frustrating her administration.
The first term NARC governor has been quoted accusing MCAs of demanding for larvish retreats in Mombasa.
The governor has also accused the MCAs of working on some people's instructions to bring her down.
The genesis of Ngilu and MCAs fall out also relates to the county's supplementary budget.
Kitui MCAs have refused to approve a supplementary budget.
The county lawmakers are accusing Ngilu of allegedly overseeing a corrupt government.
Ngilu has, however, denied running a corrupt government.
The governor's only way to survive her looming impeachment is to address the graft accusations.
She should provide documents on how her administration utilized the previous budgets as demanded by the county legislators.
The Kitui governor should also seek dialogue with the MCAs to iron out their differences instead of trading barbs in public.
She should reach out to senior politicians in the county to help address the impasse between her and the county lawmakers.
As it stands, Ngilu could easily lose the seat if the MCAs approve her impeachment.
Ngilu could find it difficult retaining the seat in case of a by-election, owing to the fact that the county is Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's stronghold.
