Speaking in Kisumu on Friday, Raila said that Kenyans should expect constitutional changes that will improve governance and unite Kenyans.

He stated even after passing the new constitutions, Kenyans are still divided.

“We have not yet crossed the bridge even after we enacted new laws which were expected to put an end to repression and exclusion,” he said. The opposition chief faulted a section of leaders for talking about the upcoming general election yet electoral laws had not been fixed.

“We cannot assume that the electoral laws and the executive structure is good enough to go into another election, without foreseeing any trouble,” he said.

The NASA chief added that alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta, they will find means of ensuring that we have peaceful elections.

Previously, the country has always been gripped with tension during the electioneering period.

“We cannot do the same thing, the same way all the times and expect similar results. We have to retreat, retrace our steps and make necessary changes,” Raila added.
