Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has reignited calls for ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid .
Duale says that Raila should save himself humiliation and support the Deputy President in 2022.
According to Duale, Raila has no strength to contest against DP Ruto and others in the 2022 presidential election.
"Raila should be a statesman and support DP Ruto because he (Ruto) at least helped him get the Prime Minister position in 2008," the Garissa lawmaker said.
Duale said that Raila will ruin his legacy if he contests in 2022.
"He (Raila) has no numbers to counter DP William Ruto's influence and it will be humiliating if he contests and loses again," Duale said on Friday.
Duale has been pushing Raila to support William Ruto's 2022 bid.
He insists that the former Prime Minister must return the 'hand' to DP Ruto.
On Friday, Siaya Senator James Orengo, a close ally of Raila said that the ODM party leader will be on the presidential ballot in 2022.
Raila has several times unsuccessfully contested for the Presidential seat.
He lost the presidential election in 1997, 2007, 2013 and 2017.
Raila's allies, however, say that the former Prime Minister has strength to contest in 2022.
