Mursik lovers are still shocked with revelations that use of the fermented milk causes Oesophageal cancer.
This follows revelations by the National Cancer Institute that consumption the popular milk among the Kalenjin community has the potential of causing the deadly disease alongside hot tea and Miraa.
In the report published in a local daily, the institute's acting Chief Executive Officer Alfred Karagu said research had revealed that use of mursik was associated with Oesophageal cancer cases in Rift valley region.
"Potential risk factor associated with Oesophageal cancer in a study conducted in Tenwek shows that the use of mursik was independently associated with the disease," Karagu was quoted by the local daily.
These recent revelations have however not gone down well with the mursik users many of who are questioning the authenticity of the study.
