Deputy President William Ruto is set to receive a coveted award in Uganda on Saturday.
Ruto will be awarded by the Uganda Young Achievers Awards. Ruto will be awarded the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's ceremony thatwill take place at Kampala Serena Hotel.
During the event, Ruto will also give a keynote speech.
The event will be hosted under the theme; “Rewarding innovation and excellence recognizing of young entrepreneurs and inspiring the next generation of world leaders”.
“H.E. William Ruto represents a generation of new youthful leaders across the continentwho have a passion for young people’s well being and is a key voice and strong proponentof youth empowerment.
“His story of triumph against the odds, and achievements in leadership from a humble background to being a key leader in East Africa’s biggest economy resonates with dreams and aspirations of many young people in East Africa and Africa as a whole,” Awel Uwihanganye, co-founder of the awards said.
The 2018 Young Achievers Awards are organized by Reach A Hand Uganda, an organization focusing on youth empowerment programs with focus on livelihoods and skills development, sexual reproductive health rights, behaviour change communication and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention
