In his passionate narration, Mr Wycliffe Okari said First Lady Naomi Nyagarama had been pushing to have the vehicle deployed to her in vain having failed to reach an agreement with CPSB.

"I found Deputy Chief of Staff Kefa Mocheche within the county offices and he demanded to have the vehicle. I couldn't surrender because my bosses had not instructed as such.

"First Lady has been pushing to have the vehicle but I work under orders from CPSB. It is not my fault. They arrested me but failed to pursue charges. I will deal with them," he said.

So shocking was his arrest that it almost caused tension within the county government of Nyamira as residents accused the First Family of victimising CPSB for failing to toe to their line in appointment of Municipality Manager.

But Mr Mocheche, a former Personal Assistant to Governor John Nyagarama, defended his actions claiming that the vehicle was being repossessed because of misuse.

"You can't park a public vehicle outside bars and drive it past time. It must be repossessed. I had him arrested because he has not provided the vehicle," he said.
