East African Legislative Assembly MP Maina Kamanda insists Jubilee Party will not support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022.
In yet other worrying statement to Ruto's camp, Maina, a close ally of the president and proponent of handshake, insisted that remarks made by Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe holds.
"When the right time comes, we will say the same things Mr Murathe has said but for now let us just focus on the unity of the country,” Mr Kamanda said.
“Let those condemning Mr Murathe stop because what he said is what majority of jubilee party members are saying silently when you speak to them,” Mr Kamanda said.
At Vihiga on Wednesday, Murathe, a political broker close to President Uhuru Kenyatta, insisted that Mr Ruto has no otherwise than to retire along with the president.
Further, he said, Mt Kenya region doesn't owe the DP any political debt, remarks which elicited sharp reactions from among Jubilee Party members.
"He should just retire with the president. We don't owe him and that is a fact. He's busy undermining a proposed referendum even before a question is formulated."
In his outings across the country, the DP has also maintained that when the right time comes, he will reach out to people across the country for support.
