Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho was on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit by President Yoweri Museveni's minister.
Joho hosted Uganda's Works and Transport Minister Monica Azuba in his Mombasa County offices, few weeks after Museveni visited the county.
The Governor through his social media accounts said that the visit by the Ugandan Minister is a follow-up of what Kenya had discussed and agreed with Uganda during the head of state's visit to Kenya.
President Yoweri Museveni was in Kenya in late March this year where he sealed a number of deals with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Among the deals were Kenya allocating Uganda a dry port in Naivasha town. Uganda was also set to export poultry products to Kenya.
They also discussed the state of Migingo Island and promised further negotiations to end the existing conflict.
"Today I had the pleasure of hosting Ugandan Minister for Works and Transport Hon. Monica Azuba Ntenge who paid me a courtesy call in my office," posted Joho.
The Mombasa county boss added that he had a business discussion with the visiting misters that entails linking the port city of Mombasa to Uganda and even beyond.
The visit will also see Mombasa County partner with Uganda.
