Noel Maingi, a staunch supporter of England said after his favourite team took the lead in the 5th minute thanks to Tottenham Hotspurs' defender Kieran Trippier, he got some feelings that the star could add another one.

While following the match live, Maingi decided to check on the odds placed on Trippier to score two or more goals and was impressed that it was at 41.00. It is at this point that he decided to stake with Sh15,500.

The 27-year old shopkeeper expected to win Sh635,500 which never came to be after Trippier's goal remained the only one England scored.

"Am a staunch supporter of England and Tottenham Hotspur and when Trippier scored, I was so much impressed that I backed on him to score another goal, but what happened is now beyond me though am so disappointed with the results," Maingi said.

The shopkeeper who admitted to having regretted his decision said had he won the money he would have used it to add more stock on his shop as well as open a car wash so to improve his daily earnings.
