Human rights group HAKI Africa has expressed its shock, saying it is appalled by the just announced KCSE results by the Ministry of Education through Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed.

"In the results, it is alleged that no single student from the Coast features in the top 100 and no school from Coast features in the top 100. If true, this is a clear indication of the poor performance by the region in the KCSE," said the organisation on Saturday.

In this regard, HAKI Africa is demanding an explanation from the CS as to why "the Coast has performed dismally. We equally demand to know what the Ministry will do to improve the performance of the region."

As an organisation, HAKI Africa is calling on authorities to ensure efforts are made for all regions to perform well.

"The Coast must all also be supported to improve. Education is a right that must be guaranteed to all."
