Socialite Huddah Monroe has joined the growing number of people who want the use and growth of bhang legalized in the country.
Huddah took to social media and called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to legalize bhang in Kenya.
Huddah in her post to the President said before he focuses on having the referendum, he should first legalize bhang.
She further asked those close to President Kenyatta to pass the message of legalizing weed.
“Before the referendum, we need that weed to be legalized. Honestly, who is sitting next to Mr President right now? Pass this message,” posted Huddah.
Recently, Kibra MP Ken Okoth wrote to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi wanting to prepare the Marijuana Control Bill which will decriminalize its growth and use in the country if passed.
In his proposal, there will be amnesty for those prosecuted for using or growing bhang, institutions set up to aid in the medical use of the product and government will get tax from the use of the product.
In September this year, Raila Junior, the son of National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition leader Raila Odinga, also asked the government to consider legalizing bhang.
