Speaking during a church service at Katwanyaa AIC in Machakos on Sunday, Muthama said that Uhuru is tasked with leaving behind a legacy before the end of his second term in office.

The vocal politician said that the handshake between President Kenyatta and African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Raila Odinga has shaped Kenya in different ways.

He noted that Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, needs to ensure that there is unity in the country before his retirement.

“If Uhuru takes the route of unity without sidelining anybody, he will leave a legacy for himself and peace in the country,” he said

The ex-senator also called for the arrest of Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua for allegedly being involved in corrupt dealings.

Muthama claimed that Mutua has proven that he cannot account for the funds allocated to the county since he was elected into office.

The former senator has been faulting the governor for what he terms as unfulfilled promises to the people of Machakos.

Mutua has, however, maintained that he is ready to corporate with anti-graft bodies if implicated in any dirty deals. He has been urging leaders to embrace the proposal to undertake a lifestyle audit.
