According to Muchemi who has been a Safaricom business partner for the last 18 years, a side hustle is simply a sideshow.

"Side hustles which in our Give Me My Mountain movement we say NO to, denies you the opportunity to be your very best. It puts into question your integrity, denies you quality life due to too much juggling among other things," Muchemi writes on her Facebook wall.

She adds: "But it seems its role is so engraved in people's minds that seeing it our way is charting in lonely waters .Yet I still believe that a SIDE HUSTLE is a SIDE SHOW!! You are better off letting it go and remaining focused on your main assignment."

Many of the Facebook users who have reacted to her post seem to agree with her sentiments with some even admitting that they were only able to realise their various dreams after dropping their side hustles.

Others, however, feel that a side-hustle is equally essential especially for those in employment where, for instance, they are poorly remunerated which calls for a side hustle.
