Residents of Kihingo village in Njoro, Nakuru County on Monday held peaceful demonstrations over what they termed as an increased wave of insecurity cases.
The demonstrations came barely a day after a middle aged man was attacked by unknown cattle rustlers, and is currently nursing injuries at Nakuru level five hospital.
The residents held a demonstration that paralyzed transport services along Njoro-Mau Narok Road for about three hours, forcing the police to use teargas to disperse them.
"The rustlers have been invading our homesteads everyday for the last one week and there has been no positive response from the police and the local administrators," one of the residents said.
They have pointed fingers to Kihingo AP camp officers and the Assistant County Commissioner Njoro for failing to address the escalating issue.
Moreover, the angry residents have called upon the government to switch and transfer police officers in the area saying that they have not been helping them even after reporting the well known culprits.
