Two women, Emma Wanja and Peris Njambi are helping men with low libido in the cool Limuru town.

The women started 'Kuhona Cafe', a joint that sells soup made from camel bones and some meat. 'Kuhona' locally means to heal, therefore, the cafe is a healing centre.

“The libido problem has been high in this area due to excessive consumption of alcohol. Women have been complaining over lack of service by their spouses who over-indulge during the day,” Njambi said.

Happy customers are full of praise for the entrepreneurs who have helped sort a social problem that was threatening to end many marriages.

“The camel soup has become like (the Biblical) manna for the local man. We had a serious problem mainly caused by the abuse of illicit liquor in this area. This must be the prayers of our women at work,” said a loyal client, Peter Njoroge.

Another local, only identified as Wanja, says that their soup has some black pepper and a little of the herbal Moringa oleifera tree. The 'magical' soup makes men rush home for 'personal duties'.

“Sex urge mostly comes a few hours later but when it does, some find themselves in the pressure of quite some significance. We usually warn our customers of the possible repercussions before they take the soup,” she said.

The idea was taken from Nairobi's Eastleigh and the city estate is one of their main source of camel bones and meat. However, high demand has forced the women to seek supplies from Garissa and Isiolo.
