Gatundu South lawmaker Moses Kuria has made it clear that he has no plans of supporting Deputy President William Ruto in his 2022 presidential bid.
The MP has since declared his interest in the same seat in the very same race, which will most likely see him face off with the DP whose candidature is already known.
Speaking on KTN's Point Blank on Wednesday night, the MP made it clear that Ruto doesn't have his backing and though they are friends, it will end at 2022.
"He is a friend, yes, but I am not in his team," said the MP.
He added that as things stand now, Ruto enjoys more backing than Uhuru among Jubilee supporters, observing that more have bought into Ruto's narratives.
He said that Uhuru is suffering from his 2018 truce with ODM leader Raila Odinga, which most Jubilee Supporters believe has seen him shift all his attention to Raila.
Therefore, according to Kuria, a good number believe that he has abandoned his people for Raila's and is also working with the former Premier to fight the DP.
He noted that the thoughts are wrong, declaring his support for the handshake.
"What Ruto is saying, and I don’t think his view is right, is shared by close to the eight million people who voted for Uhuru. They believe the President has abandoned the people who voted for him, and they believe the mission he is on with Raila is a sellout," he added.
Ruto and his team have raised serious reservations about the handshake, especially Raila's sincerity.
