AFC Leopards rallied from behind to share spoils with Kariobangi Sharks in a 1 -1 draw, during a KPL match, played on Sunday afternoon at Machakos Stadium.
Sharks settled quickly and they should have gone ahead in the opening minutes, were it not for the referee to dismiss what looked like an obvious penalty after Leopards defender brought down Henry Juma in the penalty area.
This did not dampen Sharks' spirit as Harrison Mwendwa's effort saw him bungle the ball into the net for the visitors opening goal on the 15th minute with a powerful drive, thanks to Isaac Oduro defensive lapse.
However, Sharks' joy was cut short after Geoffrey Shiveka handled Mukangula's shot in his penalty area, leaving the referee with no choice but to point to the spot to hand Leopards the equalizer.
Both teams lacked the cutting edge up front, in the second half of the match, with the final result being a one-all draw.
In the earlier kick off at the same venue, Sofapaka condemned newly rebranded Mount Kenya United to a 1 - 2 defeat.
Former Mount Kenya United player John Avire scored against his side to put Batoto ba Mungu ahead on the 44th minute before Stephen Waruru added a second from a penalty.
Ulinzi Stars succumbed to a two-nil defeat at the hands of Vihiga United in Kakamega, with Victor Ademba and Stephen Wakhanya scoring for Vihiga.
At Kericho, host Zoo lost 1 - 0 to Nzoia United. Collins Wakhungu scored the lone goal for visitors.
