Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i on Monday commissioned a modern dormitory and water supply system at Kereri Girls High School in Kisii County.
Speaking during the commissioning, Matiang'i said the issue of congestion of students in dormitories will now be a thing of the past.
"The new dorm will ensure our girls don't get congested in one dorm. School heads not only in Kisii County but also across the country should maintain a good working relationship with the national government on matters development," he said.
The Cabinet secretary argued that the new water system at the institution will help the school get plenty supply of water for students to use.
"Water must be used by students to wash uniforms and clean classrooms and dorms," he added.
Matiang'i challenged Kisii County government to help school drill boreholes for the purpose of ensuring there is plenty supply of water in schools for use.
He warned teachers against sending students home for school fees saying such teachers are lazy and should be sacked.
