Five Kenya Defence Force (KDF) officers clashed with police officers at Langata Police station on Tuesday evening.
Drama ensued when the five army officers stormed the station in a bid to rescue their colleagues.
The five said police had arrested their colleagues and must be released without conditions.
Police officers in the station were forced to fire 16 rounds of ammunition into the air.
The arrested KDF officer had allegedly beat up a policeman at a roadblock along Kitengela road.
Reports at the station said the soldier roughed up an officer during a traffic jam along the road.
The five soldiers were later overpowered at the station and handed over to the military for disciplinary action.
The incident comes days after another incident where two Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives clashed with police at a roadblock along the Namanga-Nairobi highway.
