Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, the Senator said that the culture of corruption will not end if action is not taken against MPs linked to bribes.

According to him, the allegations of bribery must be investigated and those found culpable taken to court immediately.

“It is despicable to hear that people who are supposed to be leading as examples are engaging in bribery,” he  said.

Haji asked the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) to go for the culprits and save the country’s image.

He warned that the ongoing purge on graft will stall if MPs linked to bribery are left to  go free.

The vocal Jubilee Senator also supported calls for re-introduction of the report into Parliament.

“The report should be re-reintroduced and preferably forwarded to the senate for debate,” he said.

Several MPs are on the spot over allegations that they pocketed money to shoot down the sugar report.
