The sensational and talented Tallie has revealed how she ended up being a musician.
According to Tallie, she got into professional music in 2016 and had to take a break because she had just started school and juggling between the two was quite challenging.
She later got back to music in 2018 with her song “Good love’ featuring Obinna. She looks up to revered musicians like Tiwa Savage, Atemi and Beyonce for inspiration.
She told Hivisasa in an exclusive interview that she once rapped on Khaligraph’s Biashara Remix while he was on stage back then. This is one of her fondest music memory.
When asked how she started music, she says it all started as a punishment before her friends motivated her to take it further.
"I started singing as a punishment. We have mass once a week and everyone was required to attend without fail. I was a few minutes late on one day and my teacher punished me by asking me to sing the Psalm during the service. After this, my friends complimented me and I began looking at music as a career option," she heartily recalls.
In the same interview, she revealed time planning made it possible for her to balance music and studies.
"In school, we have the option of choosing schedules that one is comfortable with. I chose classes that allow me to focus on school and also give adequate time for my music," she said.
Tallie says she gets inspired to write before she even gets a beat, day-to-day activities she engages in or just random memories form part of her creative process in writing songs.
