Law school dean Makau Mutua called on Education CS George Magoha to revoke fake PhDs from high profile personalities like, 'hustlers and former Attorney Generals.
News asserting that Magoha was poised to crack the whip on PhD holders who acquired the qualifications dubiously from local universities in Kenya got the attention of the scholar.
The Kenyan-born professor encouraged the CS not to relent On his quest to ensure that academic credibility and desired quality is restored in the country's universities.
He advised that the self-confessed 'hustlers' who had undeservingly been awarded PhDs should not be spared in the purge. Furthermore, on Makau's list of dishonest scholars to be dealt with were former attorney generals.
"CS George Magoha now goes after fake PhDs. He should not spare anyone, even former AGs or high-ranking “HUSTLERS” #FagiaWeziWaShahada," read the post.
Education cabinet secretary George Magoha ordered an investigation into PhDs awarded to students by local universities, as the debate on the quality of university education in Kenya continues to cast more doubts in the competency of graduates from the same institutions.
