Uasin Gishu County Assembly on Thursday approved Uasin Gishu County Equitable Development Bill 2019 after the third reading.
The bill which was moved by Kaptagat MCA Jonathan Ngetich seeks to send 40 per cent of the budgetary allocation to the wards to benefit the electorate.
"I want to thank members for approving the bill since it will transform Uasin Gishu County," he said.
Kimumu ward MCA Sarah Malel who supported the bill said that the electorate will now feel the positive impact of devolution because there will be more funds allocated for projects in the wards.
"My ward has been receiving less than Sh10 million annually but with the new bill, I will now receive Sh43 million. We will now realise meaningful development," said Malel.
The session was presided over by Speaker David Kiplagat.
The bill is expected to be signed by Uasin Governor Jackson Mandago within the next 14 days.
