Director of Criminal Investigations detectives have impounded over 2200 sachets of suspected heroin drug. The drug was confiscated on Monday at Mathare - Kosovo, Nairobi after detectives conducted an operation to curb illegal narcotics.
According to the DCI statement, the suspected heroin was impounded in a Toyota Axio car. DCI revealed the vehicle in question has been detained and one suspect was nabbed.
"Of the two motor vehicle occupants, 37-year-old John Musyoka Wambui was arrested in the raid while another suspect known by the name Hillary Wachira Wanjiku escaped and is being sought by the detectives," DCI noted in their official Facebook page
Furthermore, the statement noted John Musyoka shall be arraigned in court on Tuesday.
On the same day, DCI detectives rescued twenty-two Eritrean victims of human trafficking who were being ferried along Thika road.
The victims were being ferried by alleged Kenyan traffickers identified by DCI as Muhsan Shariff Abdikadir, Amin Shariff Abdul Qadir, Elias Mahabub and Mohammed Doyo
"In the intelligence-led operation, detectives further detained three motor vehicles; Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Lexus and a Toyota Fielder that were being used to ferry the said victims, who are aged between 15 years and 38 years. Of the 22 victims, 17 were females." DCI revealed in a statement.
