Uhuru, who is yet to visit Nyanza since taking oath in November, will be the chief guest in International Youth Day that will be celebrated in Kisii on August 12th.

And at his Capitol Hill offices, Raila met Kisii County Youth Minister Duke Mainga along with local youth leaders where the trip was extensively covered.

"We had to meet him specifically for the tour which the president is expected to take charge. We took time to discuss the tour extensively.

"As youths, we were also of the opinion that he accompanies the president but that may not happen. However, he will be present during the closing ceremony," said Mainga.

By Wednesday, Gusii stadium was almost complete and Governor James Ongwae was among those who visited for inspection.

During the tour, at least two youths from the 14 constituencies in Gusii will have a closed-door meeting with the president before the main function.
