The nurses in Kisii county who through their leaders declared to go on strike beginning Tuesday have now been ordered by the County Government of Kisii to report to work beginning Wednesday or else face punishment.
While addressing Journalists on Tuesday, the Kisii County Secretary Patrick Lumumba said that the nurses should go back to their working stations and offer services following the order made by the court of law.
Lumumba also warned the nurses against boycotting their work as the County government will inspect their reporting to work and equally discipline those who will not report to work as that will have implied that they despised the court order.
"Through the county government of Kisii, nurses who declared to down their tools as from today, have been ordered to report to work as set out by the national government and work for the 60 days as their grievances are looked into,” Lumumba said.
"I would like to ask all the nurses to report to work tomorrow as the County Government will inspect their reporting to work. Those who will not respond to this order will have despised the court order and shall be met with a deserved discipline in accordance with the procedures given by the act of workers of the government,” he added.
