The Jubilee senator says that the opinion poll lacked basis and was allegedly engineered to tarnish the deputy president's name.

Speaking in an interview on Citizen Radio on Monday, Sakaja said that the  Ipsos survey was in bad faith.

He said that while it may have been just an opinion poll, its motive and way of presentation made it questionable.

“The Ipsos survey was pure political malice aimed at making some people look bad in the eyes of the public,” he said.

The senator said that if DP Ruto is the most corrupt leader in the county as the survey alleges,  he could have been taken to court long time ago.

“The DP has never been investigated or summoned over corruption, what people say and think about him is mere perception and speculation,” he said.

The senator asked Ipsos to be objective and focus on polls that will improve the lives of Kenyans and not create divisions.

Last week on Wednesday, Ipsos released a survey claiming that 33 percent of Kenyans perceive DP Ruto as a corrupt leader in the country.

The Ipsos poll also rated Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru as the second most corrupt leader in the country.

Governor Waiguru has since threatened to sue the research firm accusing it of pushing to taint her character.
