Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has expressed his shock following the brutal murder of Kipchumba Murkomen's aide and former MCA Kapyego ward Benson Kiptire.
In a socia media statement, Moi termed him a personal friend, recalling his time while in KANU party.
" It is with profound shock to learn of them the murder of former Kapyego ward MCA Benson Kiptire after his abduction on Friday. Kiptire was a personal friend and KANU MCA between 2013 and 2017. He was a loyal KANU member and development oriented leader," Senator Moi stated.
He, however, called on security agencies to commence investigations into the cold blood murder.
"I am calling on our security agencies to investigate those behind the heinous act and bring them to book," the flamboyant senator added.
The slain Kiptire was reportedly abducted on Friday afternoon at his Eldoret shop by people who claiming to be police officers.
He went missing until Saturday afternoon when his body was discovered at a thicket in Kamatira, West Pokot County.
The cold blood murder attracted widespread condemnation, with a number of leaders calling on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct speedy investigations on the incident.
