Tragedy has befell a local politician following Wednesday rulling by the Garissa High Court.
The court, in its long awaited ruling overturned another ruling issued in February this year that had upheld the election of Abakaile MCA Mr Mohammed Ali who also doubles as the assembly's minority leader.
Delivering the ruling, Judge George Dullu stated that the magistrate had widely erred in the earlier ruling failing to scrutinise votes cast because the winning margin was too narrow to ignore.
The MCA had vied on an ODM ticket and got a total of 1,826.
On the other hand, his close rival Abdiwahab Sheikh of the African National Congress garnered 1,799.
The narrow margin compelled Abdiwahib Sheikh to head to the courts to challenge Ali's win, citing massive failure by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to display the total votes cast to party agents during the counting process triggering suspicions of foul play.
