Governors; Anyang’ Nyong’o (Kisumu), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), and Nakuru’s Lee Kinyajui are in Copenhagen, Denmark to seek for partnership opportunities with the Danish government.

According to information released by Governor Nyong’o’s press unit, the governors are part of high level Kenyan delegation comprising of Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi, as well as the Principal Secretary, State Department for Industrialization Betty Maina.

“The team is on a mission to negotiate partnerships with the Danish government for projects of both national and county governments in the second phase of an ongoing collaboration between Denmark and Kenya,” read a statement from Nyong'o's press team.

According to the statement, Kisumu, Uasin Gishu, Mombasa and Nakuru counties will be the beneficiaries of projects to be supported under the partnership of Denmark.

Nyong’o and Kinyanjui are serving their first terms in office, while Mandago is in office for his last term, having been elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2017.

On Monday, ODM leader Raila Odinga toured Kisumu with three Cabinet Secretaries among them CS for Industrialization, Trade and Cooperatives Peter Munya.

The leaders were received by Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owili.
