Two suspects alleged to be part of a killer gang that murdered a night guard last week have been arrested.
The duo was apprehended by investigative police on Saturday at Sankuri farm in Garissa county.
According to Garissa county commissioner Mr Joshua Chepchieng, the two suspects identified as Daniel Makau and Kimwele Musembi were arrested after police officers tracked phone that was stolen from the shop where the slain guard was manning.
"Two suspects namely Daniel Makau and Kimwele Musembi have been arrested at Sankuri farm. Police tracked a phone stolen from the shop which was found at the hands of the two," stated Chepchieng.
The county administrator further revealed that a review of CCTV footage at the scene of crime confirmed that the duo were involved in the heinous murder of the night guard.
"Their identities match those captured in a CCTV footage at the hardware. We are satisfied that the two suspects are took part in the murder," added Chepchieng.
The two will be arraigned in court today to answer robbery and murder charges.
