It took three robbers less than ten minutes to rob a day's sales in a shop stone throw away from police.
The police have now launched a manhunt for the three who executed a raid at Fauna Supermarket in Pipeline area, Gilgil on Monday evening.According to the Supermarket’s owners, the robbers executed the raid at around 8.41pm making away with over Sh100, 000, and phones.
One of them was armed with a pistol.
Anne Wambui who doubles up as the cashier of the family business said the robbers had made a survey of the premise on Sunday.
She says two of the robbers had visited the premise where one pretended to Sh10 airtime while the other remained outside as per a CCTV footage.
The two left the premise only to return after 10 minutes with no agenda as seen in the CCTV footage.The two are captured as among the three who robbed the shop on Monday.
“Two of them were in the same attire they were seen in on Sunday. One was putting on a white-purple shirt with black buttons while the other was putting on white sports shoes,” Wambui said.The thugs are seen ordering customers who were in the shop to lie down before robbing them cash and phones.They then left after emptying the shop’s cash box.“I heard them converse that we have to leave since there is a vehicle that just arrived outside. They then left the premise,” She said.They jumped onto standby motorbikes and left shooting in the air.Businesspeople in the area blame police of laxity.The Supermarket is just metres from Mwariki police post.
