A Jubilee politician based in Kisii County has protested the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party's decision to kick out Damaris Mouni from the Nyamira County Assembly.
Isaac Motari who doubles up as the Kisii County Jubilee secretary general termed the swearing in of Ms Irene Mayaka as an insult to Mouni.
According to Motari, the ODM party should have asked Ms Mayaka to wait for the 2022 polls so that she can be nominated.
He said Mouni should decamp from the political outfit immediately because she has been harassed and kicked out by the Raila Odinga-led party.
"It is so embarrassing for Ms Mouni who has been enjoying the privileges of a nominated MCA to be kicked out by the party which claims to be advocating for democracy. It is now evident that the opposition party doesn't value democracy," he noted.
Speaking during an exclusive interview at Gesero shopping centre in Kisii on Tuesday, Motari wooed Mouni to join the Jubilee party, noting that the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led party won't frustrate her as ODM has done.
"Mouni should consider joining Jubilee party the home of everyone. Since ODM has shown her the door, let her turn to the ruling party where democracy prevails," he noted.
Mouni has been embroiled in a court battle with Mayaka who claimed she was the rightful candidate for the nomination slot.
