The second edition of the KTN franchise I Can Sing— came to an end Friday night at the Nairobi film centre with a glitzy two-hour season grand finale.
When it was over, the host, Orlando Nyomu announced that one of the finalist, Ivy Githaiga bagged the franchise's title.
Githaiga edged out singing sensation Jose Jay to capture the title. Vee the One finished third, while elegant singer, Chris Barr finished fourth.
The I Can Sing competition was touted as a job creation competition that brought together many competitors from all different parts of the country.
Githaiga claimed the trophy and the Ford Eco Sport car worth Sh3.7 million and a sponsored trip to Dubai.
Ivy's singing accolade sealed the deal during the final showdown with a mind-boggling gospel performance as the viewers waited for the winner to be announced.
Her story is the classic example of how failing and getting yourself up severally will make you a champion. She survived several probations and eventually emerged the winner.
The competition, which brought back some performers from the past season, featured several intriguing singers as well as a panel of judges which included renowned artist Yvonne Darcq, music coach Hellen Mtawali and Red fourth founder Filah Tuju.
