Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has been forced to swallow a humble pie following the tantrums he made last week over Mau evictions.

Murkomen had said that Mau evictions were being carried out by some people who got to government through the window 'na wakora wengine' from another place.

He implied that one of the 9-point agenda memoranda of understanding between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga was Mau evictions.

However, speaking to KTN on Sunday evening, Murkomen defended himself saying he was misinterpreted.

"I am the fact-bearer here and I know what I said is supposed to mean. At no point did I refer to President Uhuru or Raila Odinga. But if this is what it was interpreted to mean, then I am sorry about it," Murkomen said.

Nevertheless, speaking at the same time National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi could hear none of it insisting that Murkomen was referring to Raila and President Uhuru.

Mbadi said that the memorandum Murkomen was referring to was between Uhuru and Raila and when he talked about 'the people who got to the government through the window' he was simply referring to Raila and 'wakora' was directed at Uhuru.

"As a leader of his calibre, he needs to own up to his mistakes. Admit he was angry when he threw these tantrums. This is the way to go rather than denying the obvious," Mbadi said.
