Musyoka says the claims being perpetuated by some people are malicious and meant to derail his development agenda for Mwala residents.

Speaking in Mwala town on Tuesday, Musau said that he has not thought about contesting for the Machakos governor seat in 2022.

“I have not even thought about contesting for the gubernatorial seat, my agenda right now is to serve my constituents,” Musyoka said.

Musyoka said it was too early to talk about the 2022 succession politics.

He asked elected leaders to shun early 2022 talks and instead focus on service delivery.

There have been claims that Mutua is grooming the Mwala MP as his 2022 successor.

Mutua is serving his second and last term in office as the Machakos governor.

Several politicians among them MPs Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Patrick Makau (Mavoko) and Victor Munyaka (Machakos Town) have declared there interests in succeeding the governor in the next general elections.
