In a tweet on Saturday, Passaris called on Governor Mike Sonko to present his evidence to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

"Let him take his evidence to @EACCKenya I invite them to investigate if indeed I was paid twice for CSW 2018.

"It's very shameful for one to knowingly lie, decieve the public with online theatrics and in the same breath refuse to engage all investigative arms of government," Passaris tweeted.

The Nairobi Governor had claimed in a Facebook Livestream Wednesday night that Passaris had asked to be paid for the trip after she had already been paid by the Parliamentary Service Commission.

Sonko made the devastating revelations after being hounded out of a live interview on Citizen Television.

The revelations added more fuel to tensions between the two Nairobi County leaders.

Tensions begun during Madaraka Day celebrations presided over by the governor in which Sonko criticised Passaris.

Passaris is out of the country in Canada where she has been attending a Women Empowerment forum that was graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Canadian counterpart President Trudeau.
