The head of state was speaking on Friday in Seme, Kisumu County during the burial of Mama Dorcas Nyong'o who is the mother to Kisumu Governor Prof Peter Anyang'  Nyong'o.

Uhuru argued that corruption and tribalism were the  stumbling blocks to the progress of the country.

He urged Kenyans to shun 2022 politics and focus on eliminating the vices that sabotage the agenda of development, prosperity and peace in Kenya.

“We must fix these issues first. Politics will come later. We must fix these vices so that the country can move forward as a stable, strong and harmonious nation where jobs can be created,” argued the President Uhuru.

Uhuru maintained that fostering unity, ensuring embracive leadership and taming corruption were the issues that embodied their handshake deal with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The President observed that detrimental political differences adopted by some politicians were a recipe for unnecessary tension, which could lead to the loss of investors in the country.

“We want to attract long term investors where people can invest their money for between 15-20 years and over,” added Uhuru.

He said traits of good leadership included servanthood and tolerance and not riches, adding that Kenyans would judge the legacy of leaders based on their track records.
