In an apparent message aimed at Deputy President William Ruto and his allies, Raila further said individuals claiming that graft war was targeting certain individuals and a community were thieves.

Speaking during the ongoing 6th devolution conference in Kirinyaga, the former Prime Minister asked politicians to allow investigative agencies to conclude their probe into the projects.

He further insisted that individuals involved in graft must carry their own cross.

"If corruption occurs in a certain department, the people who were there must be arrested," noted Raila.

The former premier also revisited his earlier views that however little public money was lost, it must be accounted for.

"If you are talking about the theft of money for dams, and figures are there, then don't tell us it is not Sh21 billion, just 7 billion that has been stolen. Leave the investigations to be complete. Who are you to tell us that? How did you know? You are the thief who is trying to show us that the other thief is running away," added Raila in an apparent reference to a statement by DP Ruto over money lost in the projects.
