A pilot phase of the Nation Integration Identification Management System (NIIMS) exercise was launched in 15 counties on 2nd February 2019 Monday last month. In Kisii County, it was launched in two Sub-locations, Bobaracho and Turwa.

Justus Nyabando, a high school teacher does not trust the process. According to him, he thinks that the initiative is aimed at recruiting people into satanic ways/666.

“I also feel that this process is collecting people’s information which will facilitate in the rigging of votes come 2022,” Added Nyabando.

Joseph Ondieki, a Church elder had different opinions about the process. He soberly stated that he could not figure out the thin line on the difference between the National Identification Card and the Huduma Namba.

The Elder argued that there is no sense in having a Huduma Namba yet an ID contains each single details of a person. He went on to advise that they should instead modify the ID to capture the Government’s intended purpose.

Melchizedek Onduso, an Assistant Chief at Kineni Sub-location in Gucha Sub-County disclosed that 90% of his people are positive about the process while only 10% are negative towards it due to ignorance.

Onduso revealed that he has created awareness to his people through barazas.

This system is set to capture all the information of a person into one number ‘Huduma Namba’. Part of the information will be; NHIF data, NSSF data and fingerprints. The process is expected to cost Sh 6billion to register 50M Kenyans.
