Waititu now wants the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to arrest and prosecute suspects linked to the murder.

Speaking during a requiem mass for the deceased at Mount Kenya University (MKU) grounds in Thika on Thursday, Waititu said that Kimani’s killers should never go unpunished.

“The police have the machinery to hunt down people who took part in Kimani’s murder and they should do so expeditiously,” he said.

Waititu said that Kimani, a hardworking woman did not deserve to die in the hands of cruel criminals.

The 29-year-old business woman was found murdered in her apartment in Kilimani last week.

Her body was discovered in the bathroom with her neck slit. Reports have emerged that she was raped before being murdered.

Police have so far arrested and detained one suspect identified as Joseph Irungu over the murder.

Irungu is Citizen TV's news anchor Jackie Maribe's fiance.

Maribe's car was on Thursday impounded before she quizzed at the Kilimani DCIO.
