The song by top Kamba gospel singer Caxton Mutambuki was released a few days after swarms of locusts invaded Mwingi area in Kitui county.

In the song, the 'simu ya Daddy' (Dad's call) singer is seen chasing the insects in a certain farm commanding them to go in Jesus' name and asking God to help residents with the locusts disaster and invasion.

"Go in the name of Jesus. You must go in the name of Jesus. Jesus please help us. (Toka katika jina la Yesu. Mtaenda, mtaenda katika jina la Yesu. Yesu mwa tutethye)," the singer is heard commanding the swarms of locusts in the new video.

"Locusts what are you looking for in our land, which sins made you God bring this wrath to us. (Ngie Ma_locusts mwantha kyau kenya? Ndandalika itoli mwimantha kyau kwitu? Ni mavityo meva twikite mwa yesu uete uthiliku na uthiniko juu kwitukwitu)," noted the singer.

According to Mutambuki, it is only God who can restore the situation and heal the nation if people who have sinned against God will repent and pray to God for restoration.

He asks God to have mercy and heal the land from locusts which are badly harming crops and livestock food.

Locusts have so far invaded and destroyed vegetation in different counties including Meru, Marsabit, Wajir, Embu among others.

Efforts to eradicate the insects by the government through spraying of Insecticides is going on in the affected counties.
