1. Coffee

Coffee should not be taken when you are sick. Regardless of the type of illness, make sure you desist from drinking coffee. If you must take the drink then do so in moderation. Coffee can make you pee a lot since it is considered to be diuretic in nature.

2. Soda

Soda has a dehydrating effect. When taken, the drink can leave you dehydrated especially if you are experiencing stomach problems. Keep away soda during this period until you recover.

3. Orange juice

Taz Bhatia, M.D., professor of integrative medicine at Emory University and author of What Doctors Eat, argues that orange juice is not good for patients. The juice is acidic in nature and can hurt your throat when taken especially when you have a cold or a cough. Stop taking this juice whenever you feel you are not okay.

4. Sweets

Sweets are rich in sugar. Too much sugar can worsen your health condition. They can hurt you more if you have a stomach bug or any other issue. Stop taking sweets if you are feeling sick for the sake of quick recovery.
