The 2022 succession politics continue to take centre stage across the political divide in the country.
Sitting and former politicians are putting in place strategies on how to contest for their favourite seats.
Nakuru County has not been left out in the ongoing succession politics with a section of top politicians in the county preparing to unseat governor Lee Kinyanjui.
Kinyanjui is serving his first term in office and is expected to defend his seat in 2022 election.
Here are four politicians likely to give him a 'headache';
1. Susan Kihaka
The Nakuru Senator is no doubt among experienced female politicians in the county. Kihika’s political influence has been growing from the time she served as the Nakuru County Assembly Speaker. The Senator has been vocal often gestating for the interests of residents and Kenyans at large.
A section of residents mostly women and youths are said to be pushing for Kihika’s candidature in the 2022 gubernatorial election. The vocal senator is however yet to hint on whether she will be challenging governor Kinyanjui in 2022 polls.
2. Samuel Arama
The Nakuru Town West MP is among experienced politicians in the county and is said to be eyeing to unseat governor Kinyanjui in 2022.
3. John Mututho
Mututho unsuccessfully contested for the Nakuru gubernatorial seat in the 2017 general election. The former NACADA boss is likely to contest for the seat in 2022 polls.
He is expected to bank on his record as an anti-alcohol crusader to win the seat from Governor Lee Kinyajui.
4. Jayne Kihara
The Naivasha Town MP is among veteran female politicians in Nakuru. Kihara is said to be contemplating vying for the top county seat in 2022.
Only time will tell on whether these politicians will be on the gubernatorial ballot in 2022 or not.
