Appearing on Tony Gachoka’s Point Blank on KTN News Wednesday night, Baraza said that Maraga and his team have done well so far, but there is still room for improvement.

“So far they have done well. They have built more Court rooms across the Country, digitization has been done in some areas; they have employed more judges and introduced mobile courts in some areas. Generally, they have done well,” she said.

She however challenged Maraga to come up with mechanisms of ensuring that cases are heard and determined within a shorter period.

“We are not getting judgments as fast as we should. We should monitor the speed at which we deliver justice to the Kenyan people,” added the former DCJ.

Baraza served as the first DCJ from June 2011 before being suspended in January 2012 for allegedly pinching a female guard at the village market in Nairobi.

She resigned in October the same year.

Currently, she teaches law at Nairobi Universities’ Law School. She told Tony Gachoka that former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, current DCJ Philomena Mbete Mwilu and devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa are some of her illustrious students.
