The County Government of Mombasa through its Department of Education will be recruiting youth to take various Technical and Vocational courses in their city polytechnics from January 7 - 11, 2019 between 9 am and 3pm.
Courses include: mechanical engineering, welding and fabrication, seafaring, refrigeration and air conditioning, automotive engineering, motor vehicle mechanics and electrician, electrical and electronics, building technology, fashion and design, food and beverage, cosmetology (hairdressing and beauty therapy) and ICT.
A notice from the department on Monday, said short courses will be derived from the above list of long courses.
Potential candidates are required to have scored D+ and below. KCPE graduates and drop outs are encouraged to register.
They are required to carry original certificates and national ID card (for those who are above 18 years).
Interested youth will be required to visit education offices in either of the listed areas:
1. Mvita - Tononoka Social Hall.
2. Kisauni and Nyali - Kisauni Youth Polytechnic.
3. Changamwe and Jomvu - Changamwe Fire. Offices.
4. Likoni - Mrima DECECE offices.
"The County Government will pay 70% of the total fee," read the joint notice from Director Vocational Training - Department of Education, ICT and Mombasa Vision 2035.
