A woman is fighting for her life in Nyamira County hospital after her husband attacked her with a machete.
The woman was attacked by her husband on Friday at Ikonge market, Nyamira County.
Confirming the attack, area chief Fred Obae said the woman Lucy Bonareri a trader at Ikonge market was attacked by her husband Enock Onsongo.
"Onsongo caught Lucy with another man kissing each other at her business stall. Armed with a machete Onsongo attacked the woman as her suspected 'mpango wa kando' was forced to run for his dear life," said the chief.
Mr Obae said the woman sustained serious panga cut injuries.
"Traders intervened and rescued the woman before she was rushed to hospital where she is fighting for her life," he stated.
He said the man threatened to slash members of the public when they tried to apprehend him.
"The suspect couldn't be arrested because he threatened to slash anyone who goes close to him. He escaped from the scene living his wife to die," he added.
The chief warned men against attacking their wives when they find them with other men.
