Amani National Congress(ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has finally declared his bid for 2022 Presidential race.
Mudavadi who was speaking at Radio Citizen FM revealed his plans to vie for the top country seat despite not winning in the previous general elections and this will make him the first leader from Western region to declare 2022 Presidential bid.
"Sijali kura za miaka ambazo zimepita lakini nitakuwa ballot 2022 ili Wakenya wanipe nafasi ya kuwahudumia (I won't care about the last elections outcomes but I will be in the ballot in 2022 as I seek to serve Kenyans)," said Mudavadi.
With his declaration, he is expected to face off with Deputy President William Ruto who has already declared his ambition for 2022 State House job in a Jubilee ticket.
On the hyped referendum, Mudavadi has given also his stand that he will be ready to support the referendum calls if it will benefit the citizens and make the leaders accountable.
"Mimi nitahusika na siasa za referendum kama itajali maslahi ya Wakenya (Nekesa na Wanjiku) na kuwaleta viongozi kuwa na wajibu (I will be involved in a referendum which will benefit Kenyans and make leaders accountable)," added Mudavadi.
Musalia Mudavadi 2022 declaration is expected to be received with different reactions from leaders and even Kenyans.
