Speaking in Masinga, Machakos County on Friday, Kimilu said those named in the list were not present in the house when the report was tabled.

He urged the government to burn the confiscated contraband sugar to ensure it doesn't find it's way back to the market.

"The more time the sugar is kept for long without being destroyed, the more chances it will find itself back to the market and it's Kenyans who will suffer, Kimilu said.

"Our people are dying of Cancer which is emanating from the contraband foods which have found their ways into the market," he added.

Kimilu's sentiments were echoed by Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene who said the government is wrong for keeping the sugar yet it has been confirmed to be unfit for human consumption.

Kamene said those found culpable of selling contraband goods to the public should face the full force of the law.

"Over 200,000 bags of sugar have been confirmed unfit, where are they? The government should ensure the sugar doesn't reach the public and those found selling them should be prosecuted without fear or favor," Kamene said.

The leaders had attended a burial ceremony of Masinga legislator Joshua Mwalyo's mother in Kitangani.

They spoke during the burial of Kimilu's mother at Kitanganion in Masinga Sub County Saturday.
