TV host and Gospel singer Kambua on Monday took to her Instagram account to turn down her nomination for this year's groove awards.
She stated, while turning down the nomination, that she wishes to focus on other things.
The 'Nishikilie' singer said she would not request for the votes and expressed her gratitude to groove awards for the nomination.
"Good morning! I would like to say "thank you" to #GrooveAwards for nominating me, and especially all of you who have been cheering me on. I don't take any of it for granted. However, I will not be asking for your votes this year, I honestly feel the need to channel my energy elsewhere. Congratulations and Godspeed to all the nominees! Have a fab day, and thank you for coming to my #TEDTalk 😛. Love always, 🖤 ," Kambua wrote on her Instagram.
She was nominated under the Media Personality of the year category together with Antony Ndiema, Syombua Mwele, Joyce Gituro, Timeless Noel, DJ Mo, DJ Ruff and DJ Soxxy.
Apart from the Media Personality of the year, Kambua was also nominated in the Online/Digital Personality of the year category.
